Mill Valley Builders

Mill Valley Builders is a well established local construction company in Southern Marin CA. We have been doing business for the past 15 years, serving the Marin communities of Mill Valley, Larkspur, Greenbrae, Ross Tiburon, Belvedere, Sausalito and Corta Madera.

​

We are are well known for being a leader in design build, additions and rebuilds. And one of our unique specialties is working on difficult terrain such as steep hillsides and unincorporated roads. 

​

Recently, we have answered our community's need to prepare for fire season and we are now an official Generac dealer. We have also begin to build back yard studios and outside kitchens in order to support our client's needs to expand out their personal space during the shelter in place mandates. 

​

During our time here in Southern Marin we have had the privilege of holding long standing relationships with our clients. Our goal and motivation with every one of our jobs is to be there every step of the way during the building process. We look forward to working with you and turning your dreams in to creation.

MEET RICHARD CHARLES (CEO)

Richard Charles (CEO) of Mill Valley Builders has been a successful business owner for the past 41 years.

 

Richard's 1st foray into the construction industry was in 1979. While working at American Airlines as an airline mechanic Richard decided to pulled a second shift and opened The Window Broker. Richard successfully ran The Window Broker and fast became a local personality on KGO radio. Richard then sold Window Broker and opened another successful venture Charles Window & Door.

 

In 2004 Richard decided to sell the company and go into early retirement. But a year later feeling the itch to still contribute stepped back in and created Mill Valley Builders which is still going strong today.

 

Richard has always been a person who likes to help and for many years ran the a men's process group at San Quentin Correctional Facility teaching leadership and responsibility. On his time off Richard loves to take his Harley out and enjoy the day on the back roads of Marin & Sonoma County.

MEET OUR STAFF & CREW

DoDi Smith

Office Manager & Bookkeeping

Dodi is a seasoned, self taught professional and  has worn many hats in a multitude of industries over the past 35 years. She has a long history of bookkeeping and account management. With her talent for numbers and her keen eye for detail she has run a tight ship in our office for the past 15 years.  

​

Dodi started off her career by managing customer relations accounts for 12 car dealerships. She then moved on to becoming an Escrow officer at a _________  title company. After 10 years in the mortgage industry she switched gears and quickly mastered bookkeeping. And now, for the past 20 years she has run a her own bookkeeping business. 

​

On days off Dodi loves to garden. She also likes escaping  to the Sacramento Delta area to go boating and camping. 

Peter Bojorklund

Project Management &

Landscape Design

​

Peter worked at Sloat Garden Center for 9 years before hopping over to Mill Valley Builders. Peter brings with him an education from the College of Marin in horticulture and has procured a deep understanding of our flora and fauna of the Marin area.

 

Over the years Peter has also owned property from SF, Orange County to Marin County and has worked extensively with the local planning & building departments in these areas dealing with the permit approval process.

 

Peter is an active member of Sausalito Rotary Club and is one of the key fundraiser organizers of our beloved Sausalito Arts Festival. 

 

Peter has embraced Marin County as his home for many years. On his time off he enjoys taking in the natural beauty of the area while hiking and biking the many trails that Marin has to offer.

Amanda Darnell

Office Assistant, Web Design & Marketing

​

Amanda joined the staff at Mill Valley Builders in May of 2020 when her business shut down by the SIP mandates. Being entrapreneurial, Amanda quickly went to work availing herself to whatever the company needed.

 

Since her on boarding, Amanda has overhauled MVB's website, created marketing programs for both MBV and MVB's new Generator division. She also spearheaded a Covid Safety Program for MVB in order to keep with up Marin's new compliancy rules and regulations. 

​

Amanda's has a entrepreneurial background and has run and worked her own successful health and wellness business for the past 11 years. She holds degrees in Graphic Design and Marketing from School of Visual Arts in New York and a Miami Ad School and a degrees in holistic health and massage from Buaman School of Nutrition and World school of Massage.

 

In her personal time she loves to cooking and entertaining and enjoys riding the Santa Cruz Mountains on her motorcycle.
